Our History

James Lydon, founder and owner, has over 5 decades of experience working in the construction industry. During college, he started as a young apprentice in the roofing and linoleum trade in California before moving to Colorado. Jim began his work in Denver as a framer, sheet rocker, and drywall finisher. He soon moved into supervisory roles and worked as a superintendent for commercial and residential projects that took him all over the state.

In 1990, Jim ventured out on his own as a subcontractor and started The Sequoia Company, a nod to his California roots and named after the great redwood trees that grow there. After 4 years he earned his commercial General contractors license, incorporated as The Lydon Corporation and has been doing business in the greater Denver metro area and across the front range ever since.
