I have found Jim to be extremely knowedgeable in all complex phases of this unique project. Jim's ability to design and construct using clever concepts, such as a blend of conventional wood framing and commercial steel stud framing, is in itself a tribute to his competency and organizational skills. Our many conversations and "job talk" reinforces my belief that Jim's experience, skills, and thorough understanding of the utility trades goes far beyond even complex residential construction requirements.

Jim did a kitchen remodel of our residence. The remodel consisted of stripping out the old cabinets, counters, and appliances, taking everything down to the walls, and installing an all new kitchen. Jim is organized, meticulous, and thorough. He anticipates all situations and the job stayed on schedule. He has his regular craftsman for carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc who are responsible and show up when scheduled. I was most impressed by the detailed schedule, which Jim provided at the inception. The schedule was 6 weeks and 2 days, and detailed which task would be scheduled each day. I thought, "fat chance!" Well, he didn't miss a day and finished two days early, working 8 to 5 weekdays, and no weekends. Needless to say, we are delighted with the results and feel that Jim provided value received for the cost. We would engage him on any future remodeling job!

 We would like to give our wholehearted recommendation of Jim Lydon as the best contractor that we have ever dealt with. Jim is fair, reliable, conscientious, and organized. His work is impeccable, and he holds his subcontractors up to his high standards. As in every construction project, there were unforeseen challenges. Unlike other contractors that we have experienced, Jim never shirked responsibility, and always went the extra mile to ensure our total satisfaction.

We asked Jim Lydon of the Sequoia Company to remodel our kitchen. The project called for adding 200 square feet of new space with a kiva-style fireplace, custom cabinets, soapstone countertops, stainless appliances, and hardwood floors. Outside, the project included installing new structural beams, replacing the tile roof on the entire house, moving utilities below ground, and matching the existing stucco. Our objective was to bring the kitchen up to date while maintaining continuity with our vintage southwestern-style home. We particularly appreciated Jim's attention to detail. He was able to fashion  new archways that mirrored existing ones, successfully re-purpose existing windows, and continue plaster and flooring so as to make for a nearly seamless transition between the old and new spaces. Jim also paid attention to time and budget. He kept the work on schedule and kept us informed of pending activities. Jim is personable, reliable, and flexible - valuable qualities for someone who is in your home on a daily basis.

Jim Lydon of The Sequoia Company was the general contractor for the remodel of our kitchen and family room during 9 weeks this past Spring. In connection with the remodeling, we had demolition, framing, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, painting, and hardwood floor refinishing. In addition, we had installation of our new cabinets, appliances, and graphite. Jim managed the entire project. He was always honest and conscientious in his work. He completed the project within the designated time frame and within budget. The quality of Jim's work is first rate. 

We contacted Jim regarding adding a second floor to our home. The first thing that impressed me was the fact that Jim returned my call promptly and set up an appointment to discuss our project. When the bid was complete, Jim sat down with us and went over the bid line-item by line-item, this was something that other contractors had not done. He answered all of our questions. Jim was also very understanding and accepting of the fact that we would be living in the house during the entire construction period. We came in on budget and on time. More than all of this, is the fact that Jim is a really nice person and a person of integrity. He was delightful to work with and brought so many wonderful people in to do the subcontracting. We have both agreed that if we were to do this project or another such project, Jim would be the person we would ask to do it!
